Because He is the Miz….

AND HE’S AWEEEESSSSSSOOOOOMMMMEEEEEE!

TheMizA lot of people are up in arms that the Miz is the new WWE Champion.  They feel he didn’t pay enough dues, or put in enough time to become the Champ.  I personally have a different take on the situation because, as an interested observer, I tend to like it when the unexpected happens in WWE.  For so long, their shows have been predictable at best.  Mostly because they are still relying on an age old formula that gets more and more outdated every year.  Let me tell you why The Miz being the WWE Champion is a good thing!

1) It gives the WWE a legitimate young face as the champion.  As you can tell by the rash of missed shows and time off taken by HHH, Undertaker, Cena, Rey Mysterio, Edge and various other long time veteran’s of the ring, Vince McMahon and the WWE had to do something.  They NEEDED a young, fresh face to take over at the top of the food chain because quite frankly, the older guys are too fragile at this point in their careers to really handle a heavy work load.  Aside from John Cena, who I maintain is the hardest working man in the business, the others have taken months and months off due to injuries only to come back and get injured again (See Batista).  John Cena has an incredible amount of work load not only promoting the WWE and his latest movies, but it has been well documented that he is also the number one most requested star from the Make A Wish Foundation and has grants more wishes than any other “star” including sports, movies, television, music or whatever other genre there may be.  Passing the torch to someone like the Miz who is hungry, young, and one of the most hated villians of today was the right move.

2) The Miz has taken his cues, pointers and most of all his extreme work ethic from John Cena.  Since becoming the WWE Champion, he has worked appearances that were scheduled for him as well as scheduled his own and worked as hard as he could to promote himself and the WWE.  It is said that Vince McMahon has been extremely pleased with the Miz’s dedication and desire to be a very visible champion for the WWE and that he has commended him for his efforts.

3) With a brand new revamping and relaunching of “Tough Enough”, the new blood can look to the Miz as an inspiration.  The Miz was a finalist in the 4th season of the original Tough Enough show aired on MTV who went on to be a part of WWE as a host for the Diva search, and later started wrestling for the company and ultimately became the WWE Champion in November.  The wrestlers selected to compete on this repackaged show can take solice in the fact that you don’t necessarily have to win the reality show contest, but make an impact, make a contribution and show that they have the desire to be better and be a part of the WWE as well as prove that they will do whatever it takes to do what’s right for the show, not just themselves.

Now, I know some of you out there may think that I am just butt kissing the WWE and Vince McMahon.  And on some level I just might be. 😉  But the fact remains that the Miz is one of the most charismatic superstars in the WWE today.  His rise from reality show cast member, to tough enough competitor, to WWE Champion is nothing short of incredible as well as inspirational.  It goes to show that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.  If you put in the time and effort to be the very best you can be you will get to where you want to be.

Oh it’s true… IT’S DAMN TRUE! (Kurt Angle Reference! SCORE!)

So until next time, you keep on reading it, and I will keep writing it!

The Miz has worked extremely hard and I think WWE has done a good job of building him up over the last year or so. I just hope that WWE doesn’t blow it like they did with Jack Swagger.
