Tito Style Intercontinental Title

A trophy shop style belt sounds easy, huh? Well, not when some of the parts are no longer made and the only reference pictures you have are tiny! But based on what we had to work with, we at TRB are very proud of the way this belt turned out. It is actually much stronger than the original belt used on TV. We started with 4 mm thick brass plates and started building. The parts that were no longer available, we made. It was a long process, but we believe Tito would be impressed!

Don’t think the belt made for The Shiek’s movie has any close resemblance to that ,.,. I remember as a young teenager going to see the Shiek many times in small arenas around my home and The Shiek’s US Heavyweight title was a Mulka style casting in the shape and style of the US title worn in the 70′s by Mullgan, Flair, Wahoo McDaniel, and Jimmy Snuka.,,.. on the red (actually pink due to wear) leather backing ,.,.,.

Sheik held the title off and on from 1963 to 1980.  This is similar to one of the many belts he had.

I’m pretty sure my local indy is using this and passing it off as the “original”. Of course, the company’s owned and ran by Sheik’s nephew (Captain Ed), so…

Jay, first “The Captain” Ed Farhat Jr is the SON of The Sheik.  Sabu is the nephew.  Second they are using this belt but not “trying to pass it off as the original” title belt.  This is an update on a belt that the Sheik used in the 60′s and not an exact replica.  So…you have a few of your facts wrong.
